Opening Remarks
- Adrian Macneil, Co-Founder & CEO, Foxglove
About This Talk
Explore how simulation accelerates robotics prototyping, testing, and deployment. Hosted by Kat Scott with panelists from Blue River Technology, Polymath Robotics, Adagy Robotics, and Chef Robotics on leveraging sim platforms to refine real-world systems. From Actuate 2024, Foxglove's inaugural robotics developer conference.
Speakers
Allison Thackston is an engineer at Blue River Technology working on robotics systems for agriculture. She has spoken on simulation and development practices that help teams prototype, test, and deploy autonomous robots.
Ilia Baranov is the Co-Founder and CTO of Polymath Robotics, a San Francisco-based SaaS for robotics startup. Polymath Robotics makes software to autonomously drive ground vehicles in agriculture, raw materials, defense, and other sectors. Previously, Ilia led robotics teams at Amazon, working on software for the Astro home robot, and was an early employee at Clearpath Robotics, based in Canada. He will often take the "Swiss Army knife" approach to a problem, where the faster and most versatile solution is preferred to the perfect solution.
Kathleen Brandes works with Adagy Robotics on robotics development and simulation-driven workflows that help teams refine autonomy before and during real-world deployment.
Rajat Bhageria works with Chef Robotics on food automation and robotics systems, and has participated in industry discussions on how simulation accelerates robotics development.
Kat Scott is affiliated with OSRA and has hosted industry conversations on robotics development practices, including the role of simulation in prototyping, testing, and deployment.
