Engin Anil is Vice President of Software, Autonomy, and Foundation Models AI at Cobot, where he oversees the full stack of physical AI, from perception and planning to the foundation models that power them. Before joining Cobot, Engin served as VP of Software at Gatik AI, where he led the development of the first driverless autonomous vehicles for middle-mile logistics. At the Toyota Research Institute, he drove advances in HD mapping technology and led global projects spanning the US and Japan. Earlier in his career at Here Technologies, he developed HD mapping systems adopted by leading automakers worldwide. A published researcher and inventor, Engin holds multiple patents in perception, HD map generation, and autonomous vehicles, and has deep experience scaling engineering teams, launching products, and evaluating M&A opportunities. He earned his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University.
